The Chief Rabbit aka Lara Solomon has been in business for 7 years, starting LaRoo in August 2004 with the launch of her Mocks brand (sock covers for mobile phones). The Mocks brand has gone onto be be sold in over 2000 stores in Australia, over 2000 in the UK plus stores in New Zealand, Singapore, USA and Ireland. To date 1.6 million Mocks have been sold. Lara started with business with $12,000 and built the market for mobile phone socks in Australia as well as Mocks becoming the generic name for mobile phone socks.
In 2008 Lara wrote and self published her book Brand New Day – the highs & lows of starting a small business. This is a diary of her first 4 years in business, warts and all. It has been described as inspirational.
In 2010 Lara launched Social Rabbit following on from the success of her Mocks brand on Facebook (over 12,000 people on the page and a double in online sales).
Finally in 2011 Lara launched Steps – online social media training as a joint partnership with Blue Chilli Technology. This was born out of learnings from running numerous social media workshops with Social Rabbit.
