Guys Get Yourself a New Wardrobe on Facebook

Good morning, Social Rabbit here with your guide to social media…

Facebook is used by a higher percentage of women vs. men, so today I thought I would see what men’s clothing businesses are doing on their pages….  I wonder if they target their pages towards the woman in the man’s life? :)

bronx mens shoes on facebook Bronx Men’s Shoes are definitely not aiming for the female market with their test your manliness tab.  This tab is very clever in that it reinforces the brand character without actually saying this is what the brand is supposed to mean.

ron bennett on facebookOver at Ron Bennett Big Mens Clothing their welcome tab has lots of information on it, too much I would say.  Great that they have a welcome tab, but keep it simple, instead on here they have tried to do EVERYTHING, it has about 6 links back to their website! This may be why they only have about 130 LIKERs, there is just too much going on that you get distracted and forget to click like!

on the fly on facebookOn The Fly has a nice simple email signup tab, which tells you why you should subscribe as well making it easy to join on the spot.  The only thing I would change here is to rename the tab from Email Signup to something a bit more enticing…

oxford clothing on facebookOxford Shop promotes the roles that they have available in stores.  We have seen this before and it is a great way to attract people who are already passionate and interested in the brand.

the mens room on facebookThe Mens Room have a location app on the page making it really easy for people to find their stores.  This works really well if you have more than one location, as you don’t really want a page for each location it is just too much work!

regal man on facebookThe Regal Man has a very stylish store tab on their page, which uses the Storenvy app, I have to say that I haven’t seen this one before, but I LIKE it, it looks much more simple than others I have seen, plus the like button under each item is a great way of using social proof to sell your products.

Hugo Boss talk on Facebook

Finally over on the Hugo Boss page they have a number of great tabs, one which I particularly like is this one where you can watch a video teaser, and there it writing above telling you to LIKE the page to watch the new edition.  This is the first time I think that I have seen a page suggest that someone LIKE the page from a non-welcome tab.  When you do click LIKE the tab content changes to tell you how you can watch more.  Great idea and one I would definitely recommend.

Overall some good use of app’s on the pages, my favourite suggestion?  Creating tabs that aren’t a welcome tab but suggest that the visitor LIKEs the page is a great idea, especially if the image changes after they like it, and after all why not make your page more interactive for visitors.
