Your Facebook Prayers have been answered

Good Afternoon, Social Rabbit here with your guide to the world of social media.

There has been A LOT of complaining since Facebook changed the page layout in February because wall posts were not appearing in chronological order, well today, just moments ago this has changed – AGAIN!

There are three important changes:

1)  There is no longer an admin view of the page under the wall tab, it now says hidden posts.  Hidden posts are those that Facebook has marked as spam and moved to that section instead of them showing on the wall.  You should be checking this section as often posts that are NOT spam are moved there and may need rescuing.

2)  At the Top of the page you can now show posts by EITHER recency OR top posts.  This means that once again you can have posts appear on your page in the order they were posted OR you can have the top posts displayed.  The top posts are those with the most comments and likes.  There have been a lot of complaints about this from numerous people on Facebook, it’s nice to know they are listening…. or are they?  Was this planned all along?

3) You can still decide which posts to show on the wall, but you now change it behind your page – this is the same as with the old look pages.  Go to EDIT PAGE – Manage permissions – wall tab shows to change this.

This is a short and sweet post just to tell you the good news, hopefully there will be a few happy bouncing bunnies out there now!

My Facebook prayer is to stop having that theater view! They should just keep it the same way it was previously. Harumph!

  2. Hi Kim

Sorry to hear this wasn’t your prayer :( I am sure things will change again….

I’m glad they picked up on that mistake quick enough :D
I am still finding insights to be a problem since the update. I cannot export insights when logged in as the profile and then when I switch to the page I can only view the graphs – with no option to export… Have you experienced this?

  4. Hi Sarah

I haven’t had any issues with insights, when I am logged in as me on Facebook and look at them I can export them fine, sorry this doesn’t help I know. Sometime the glitches only affect a few users instead of all.
