Good School Facebook Page Examples

Today I’ve hunted high and low to find you some good examples of schools with Facebook pages…

Arva School of Fashion have installed the Work For Us Facebook application and advertise vacant positions on their page, this application is free for the first 30 days and then you pay for it.  Using social media such as Facebook to advertise job positions reaches a really wide audience, this is a great idea that ALL businesses can use.

The Arva school also makes great use of the photo’s tab where they showcase their students work.  The school uploads student’s work as it’s profile picture, which is a great idea, however, they should be putting them into to albums as it would be much easier for people to find specific examples.

Pine Mountain Settlement School in USA, if only all schools could be this beautiful, I would re-enrol right now!  There are lots of shots from around the campus, which are really inviting both for past, present and future students.  It is nice for a change to see a school page with a  profile picture which is NOT their school crest.

Plus they have made great use of their events tab, promoting both real events, such as building a log cabin and a community fair day to virtual events.

The Vancouver Film School has a fantastic landing tab (shown here) with video and details of what the school is all about as well as their educational Advantage and programs.   Plus at the bottom of the tab you can tell your friends about the page – which will really help them to drive the number of likers on the page.  The school have also added Flikr and Youtube tabs to their page which showcase what their student’s projects. A great way to promote the school and show potential students what it has to offer.

A Facebook page can be a great way to communicate with current, past and future students as well as parents.  Being a school there is so much information that could be put up, it is a shame that they don’t make more of it.  With social media being such a hot topic, this could be the way to really make your school standout as one that is embracing it and using it to educate and inform.
