Good afternoon, Social Rabbit here with your guide to the world of social media.

Last night I spoke at a women’s networking group on using Facebook and LinkedIn for business. One of the ladies in the audience asked a question at the end and started by telling me that she was a “technosaurus”, I loved the word hence this slightly silly blog post.
How I think you can tell if you are a Technosaurus….
- You don’t have a Facebook profile
- You don’t see the point of using Facebook because can’t people just call or email? What’s the big deal with doing it on a website?
- You just got your first mobile phone this year
- You remember when hash was something you smoked, not a tag
- You’ve noticed that people are chatting about tweeting a lot more than they used to and are puzzled as to why birds are such a popular topic
- You still have a physical address book that you write people’s details in
- You are on a dial up internet connection
- You still use film in your camera that you get developed at the chemist – but it is in colour!
- You don’t trust websites that let you shop online, you much prefer to buy in person
- You are wondering how all these people who put “blackberries” in their pockets don’t have purple stains on their clothes…
Of course, whether or not you are a technosaurus is VERY subjective, there are no hard and fast rules. I am sure that you can always find someone who knows less than you to make you feel like an expert. Plus who says you need to be into technology, the internet or social media? You don’t have to, these are all just tools that could make your life easier, but if you are happy with your business card roladex or picking up the phone and calling instead of tweeting/texting/emailing etc then why not keep doing it? In terms of personal use of social media, you don’t have to be involved if you don’t want to, it’s your call.
Silly as this post is, what do you think?
FYI Tomorrow I will be back to normal

OMG, this is HILARIOUS! And YES, that is so ME. I am embarassed that it is so ME. I am still one of the dorks that uses old fashioned film in a camera and my “buy local” beliefs won’t let me buy on-line. Great post!
Thanks Franticmommy, I think we are all a technosaurus at one time or another
